- Result preparation: processed the local rendition through `src/tools/compress-image/Widget.tsx` using `browser-image-compression` 2.0.2, 80% quality, and **Keep original** JPEG output. The widget preserved 1,920 × 1,080 dimensions and produced a 212,540-byte file (reported as 10.8% smaller). The downloaded JPEG was renamed to the stable published filename; no visual post-processing was applied.

### Three-setting rerun, October 28, 2026

The same CC0 source was loaded using the production widget's **Try a sample image** button in the desktop Chromium-based preview browser. Each run used Keep original JPEG, no target size, and the original 1,920 × 1,080 input. The actual widget downloads were inspected for format, dimensions, and bytes; no visual post-processing was applied.

- 80%: 212,540 bytes, reproducing the saved example.
- 60%: 95,951 bytes; `src/assets/blog-evidence/cloudscape-quality-60.jpg`.
- 40%: 67,079 bytes; `src/assets/blog-evidence/cloudscape-quality-40.jpg`.

These are encoding results for one photograph and browser, not objective visual-quality scores or promised savings for other files.

## White-background export, October 28, 2026

`src/assets/blog-evidence/amethyst-white-background.jpg` uses the same CC0 amethyst source by Bordercolliez credited above. The source was processed by the current remover's sample workflow, then exported through **Create white-background JPEG**. The production widget composites the cutout onto white and encodes JPEG at 92%; the actual download was copied without post-processing. Verified output: 1280 × 781, 79,045 bytes, no alpha, all four corner pixels RGB 255/255/255. This example does not establish marketplace compliance or a perfect mask.
